Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a multiethnic background. The father of Jacqueline, Elroy Fernandez is a an Sri Lankan. There are two older brothers as well as two younger brothers. Her family was born and raised in Bahrain. The family of her parents relocated to Bahrain in the 80s due to the civil war within Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March of 2006, and later was also crowned Miss Universe 2006 also. After winning Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she entered the world of television and anchored a show about Sri Lanka's business, known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father is badminton-player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has had a childhood in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. When she was a teen, Padukone played in many National badminton competitions. However, she resigned from playing when she made the decision to become a fashion model. Padukone is born in Mangalorean heritage, and her mother tongue is Konkani. Padukone is located in the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone is her father and a former badminton star of international fame. Her mother works as an agent of travel.
